I can’t stop thinking about the essay The brain is a computer is a brain, and something I need to investigate further that is briefly mentioned within the essay - conceptual metaphor theory.
While I am aware that calculus is most often considered the mathematical study of change, I would argue that all mathematics is the study of change. But aren’t all stories and narratives just descriptions of changes.
1 + 1 = 2 is the story of gain
2 - 1 = 1 is the story of loss
2 / 2 = 1 is the story of division
And and on we go…
